Timbermill Cafe is a relaxed spot on Molloy Street in Bulli that feels like a quiet morning retreat for locals and visitors looking to settle in with good coffee and thoughtfully prepared breakfast options. The cafe’s atmosphere blends a casual vibe with a leafy, cactus-filled seating area that offers a touch of green calm whether you’re inside or enjoying the laid-back alfresco space.

The coffee here, especially the cappuccinos, seems to be a local favorite, delivering a solid, comforting cup without unnecessary fuss. For those who like their mornings savory and a bit adventurous, offerings like the truffled mushroom and halloumi roll or the avocado toast topped with truffle goat cheese and edamame bring a fresh twist to typical cafe fare. These dishes hint at a willingness to experiment just enough to keep tastes interesting while still feeling approachable.

This cafe is well-suited to anyone who enjoys a leisurely breakfast or brunch, particularly on a weekday when the pace slows to allow a moment of calm. It's a place where people can meet up with friends or family in a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere. The presence of an adjoining art studio and vintage store also means that Timbermill offers more than just food and coffee—a small cultural nook in the Bulli area that encourages lingering and discovery.

While service is straightforward and unhurried rather than flashy, Timbermill makes up for it with authenticity and attention to detail in both its menu and ambiance. The outdoor seating benefits from natural light and shelter, making it a cozy option even on sunnier days. Families with kids can find simple treats like chocolate waffles or classic toasties, indicating the place caters to a range of visitors.

If you’re someone who enjoys taking the time to appreciate subtle flavor combinations over a well-made cappuccino, Timbermill provides a quiet nook in Bulli’s café scene with a sense of local character and easy-going comfort.

I wish I had taken a photo because the avocado toast was so unusual and sooo pretty and delicious. It won't be for everyone but for anyone who thinks edamame beans and truffle cheese sounds good will love it. Also just really enjoyed the relaxed cactus filled seating area. Lovely cafe.

Met up with family and friends. A great atmosphere and vibe. Very friendly and welcoming. Had a sausage roll with a delish relish on the side. A lovely little local place for me.

This place is a hidden gem, there’s nothing like it in the area. Incredible food and coffee and amazing customer service! Not to mention it’s attached to an art studio, RAD vintage store and cacti haven!!! The best place to visit and have a wonder and feed if you’re in Wollongong. Would give it 10 stars if I could

Decent coffee, had the truffle mushroom roll with halloumi - but it was in a bun - and it was delicious! Really tasty and left me wanting more. Had the lemon basil tart, couldn't really taste the basil, but the lemon and meringue on top was chef's kiss. Nice alfresco dining, beautiful spot to just sit in the sun or under a shade. Service was okay, not too long a wait. Visited on a weekday morning and wasn't busy.
